But it isn't going away. The broadcast content is still valuable and it is still being watched and paid for. The OP's article hat-tippped the streaming services but didn't do enough with the explanation, IMHO.
Cable and satellite are losing subscribers in droves. Streaming services are gaining subscribers in droves. Regardless of which model you adopt you are paying for the broadcasts you are watching. Same with Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. Money is still changing hands, it will just be consolidated over time.
