I woke up this morning with a peaceful easy feeling
And anyone who knows me, knows that has never happened following a loss. Especially a loss like that. BYU has not had a worse stretch of offensive play ever, or at least that I can remember... but here are a few reasons to be optimistic

Wisconsin is one of the nations best defenses and our running back had half a hundred by half time. He is playing his way into shape but that tells me that 100 and 200 yard games are in his future, and even this year.

The play of Khyiris Tonga against top P5 competition has me believing he is going to absolutely destroy some of these teams coming up. I knew he was big, I knew he was strong but his level of quickness was completely unexpected and took Wisconsin by surprise

Maybe just maybe BYU has found its play maker at WR. Micah Simon should get no fewer than 7-10 targets a game.

Matt Bushman has been a real bright spot on offense and with a play action game from Tolutau tearing apart defenses, is only going to get more productive

Hoge has a great arm and he displayef that yesterday. He wasn't great, but he showed flashes in his first start. It was his first start people. I love what he brings and there were several times where BYU kept moving the chains something they haven't really done and it was against the best D BYU has faced.

I have concerns about the pass rush and the fact that BYU is in cover 3 almost all the time. I don't understand why BYU doesn't play more man and commit another player or two to the rush.

The killer part of the schedule is now past and the team will have a chance to get the mental part of the game right as confidence and productivity will increase. The BYE will help the team get some things figured out and I am already planning the trip to Logan to watch them for conference weekend.

There are good times ahead bookmark this post and mark my words things will get better, much better. This year BYU is not built to compete with the big boys, that doesn't mean BYU cannot build back up to that. Two NFL players helped BYU last year and the tough teams BYU beat all had losing records.
