guy who has personally seen every snap this year, and bleeds blue. Alot of people are pointing fingers at Ty, and rightfully so, and others at Tanner and he has been less than Stellar. But let me point out two other massive things that have happened at key times, that not many are talking about.
Our tackles, Hoyt and Schoff, have had critical penalties, and wiped out over 90 yards of 3rd down gains, since game 2. Holding, illegal blocks, untimely off sides, have been as big of drive killers as have our turnovers. What is interesting to me, is Empey, has kept the same 5 guys in the game, every week, and hasn't rotated to build depth, and in watching them as they run off the field, seems to be very limited in the way he is instructing and coaching.
Contrast that to Kaufusi, who lost Butch for now near half the season, Matt for a game and half, and Francis for the entire season, and actually has Adam, Johnny, Grant and others playing pretty well. Conversely, our safeties have not been good, Tanner is not seeing the field, Zayne is getting beat like a drum, and Micah, well, watch the film. Kaufusi even subbed in Va'a last night and he made a tackle on his first snap. As I watch the contrast on the sideline, it is evident to me, that one side is more ready than the other.
This team has lacked leadership, and as I watched Tanner on the sideline on the last series while Joe was in, it was apparent he is no longer the leader. We have to hope that this team comes together. I just dont know who is going to bring them together.
