Other than firing Detmer or Tuiaki (neither which I think will happen soon) and replacing them with higher paid coordinators, is there something tangible that more money would help us with?
More money is never a bad thing. But in comparison to say Utah, or Washington State, is our stadium not already better? Is our weight room / training worse than theirs? Do we just not have enough money for coaches to get on a plane and go recruit Hawaii or wherever there is a kid we want? Are we not able to get quality gear for our players, despite our apparel contract?
I'm just not sure what tangible benefits more money would provide, other than I said above a bigger budget for coaches?
Finally, do we have any idea how the compensation of our 2 coordinators - Detmer and Tuiaki - compares to those of a Utah (rival) or Washington State (current dream offense of many CBers) ? Its easy to say that we don't invest the money, but is there really a gap between what our coordinators get and those of the schools I mentioned? Or do perhaps we just have less effective/experienced/quality coordinators or lesser talent due to academic requirements or honor code requirements or lack of big conference participation?
