Hubris everywhere, on both sides (us and North Vietnamese)...
Now, I understand the philosophy after WWII with the Nazi's, Soviet Union and China and trying to stop communism early rather than later, but this was a much, much different war. LBJ was one of the most egotistical politicians in history from what I have heard and once he went down that road, he wasn't going to admit wrong and pull out. Thousands of young men were killed because of it and he chickened out in 1968 by not running for a second term to correct the wrong and forced someone else to clean it up.

I am still wondering if we are in the mindset and equipped to fight these types of wars, which is similar what we are fighting today in the middle east.

It was a well done documentary, but very sad, especially for guys like Mogie.
