Then we should just shut down the program. There isn't enough money in even an
AAC arrangement to keep the ADs office in the black. Unless they can turn the tide of G5 getting less money every time a contract comes up for renewal, which they believe they can, but history is not on their side.
Oh and forget about the MWC, it isn't what it was and BYU has some specific rules for conferences and the MWC no longer fits. Not counting how much attendance and donors would cut if that happened. The only way forward is to struggle as an independent and hope for a major change in CFB and hope the B12 survives. No B12 and the likely hood of BYU keeping FB goes down considerably.

Any kind of guarantee that the program will actually be funded to compete at a P5 level if/when we get there?

This seems most likely to me. We end up in a somewhat watered down B12 but have P5 status/access. Would be great...
