Since Jobs died, it seems Apple has lost some of their fire. I've had more issues w/my phones (starting w/iOS 8) then I ever had prior. My iPhone 4 & 5s were bullet proof...rarely had an issue. My six plus has been slow and had all sorts of issues.

The lack of audio jack on the newer Apples bugs, and I'm not convinced I the Face recognition for Security/unlocking the phone is that big of a deal. In fact, it appears you can't text on it w/o making it obvious by first looking at it to unlock...maybe there's a work around.

BUT if I move to Samsung...

What happens to all of my MP4's (I suppose I could simply just get Spotify or something, but the quality isn't as good w/ that type of streaming.

I have a Macbook and the rest of the family has iphones and macs, so that may be a little bit of an issue.

When I read the reviews, it appears both iPhone X and Samsung 8 Note each have advantages over the other, but I've come to the mighty CB to get everyone's take here.
