It was deerslayer that Twain made fun of, another in that series
The series follows the Daniel day lewis' character from youth to middle age if I remember right. I read all the books and I think they are a lot of fun even if they do have problems as Mark Twain calls it. So while it may not be a perfect form of literature I certainly wouldn't put it as the worst
