What he has done so far probably resembles that ranking. He is definitely in a funk.
I think TJ wants to be the point guard and have the ball in his hands more and is struggling with the adjustment the team needs him to do at SG.
I would like to see coaches draw up more plays for him. His favorite player is Steph curry and he does have a very similar skill set. I'd like to see some elevator screens or something to free him up for a 3 (GSW runs these). Maybe that would help his confidence.
They ran a play for him the last couple games where we set and off-ball screen for him and he shoots a 3 off of a little curl around the screen on the catch. Unfortunately both plays were run to the side of the court where he has to shoot going to his left which iirc he has a far better success rate catching and shooting moving left to right. Sometimes what appears to be a good look is actually a bad look bc it's not a spot or motion the player is confident in regardless of how open the shot is.
He does need to run the pnr more than he has up to now---he's by far the best pnr guard on the team from a passing standpoint. His quick bounce pass to the roll man is fantastic.
Having said that if he can't adjust and be effective then coaches should go to the other guards until he starts showing up again.
