I’m totally with you on viewings. I also think the notion of embalming our dead is pretty out there. What are we trying to preserve and why? I’m probably mostly on my own on this one, but burying people in a field full of strangers that holds no real significance to any of them seems odd as well. I’d much rather my family go to a place meaningful to us as a family to remember me when I’m gone. Cremate me and spread my ashes there and come back to visit/remember. Plant a tree if you need a memorial. Don’t even get me started on funeral costs. We’ve lost our minds.
