As a minority of 1, i continue to assert with considerable assurance that BYU in all sports has an athletic base that is exceeded by only a very few programs...maybe 10. This has been so for many years as i have demonstrated in detail here over the years.

In basketball and football, the players talent base consistently exceeds NCAA performance results in these programs. That was not the case under Stan Watts and Lavell Edwards whose program results exceeded their player talent because the Church membership was 10%-25% what it is now when they started their tenures. Also, they didn't have the mature Poly population nor the increasing number of black athletes we now have.

I support our current coach as one who is pretty effective for the basketball program and very effective at making friends for BYU.

Great leaders have great programs, good coaches have good programs. Very high potential players will go where they must to be mentored by giants.

Hope this doesn't violate my New Year's resolution to avoid divisive posts. I'm finding that one result of that resolution is that i don't have much to say within those parameters.
