It's such a weird lead-up to the game that it's not at all like a normal home game. The crowd noise and typical in-game advantages to being at home would be diminished significantly (isn't the NFC the road team this year? Would they even get their own normal locker room?). Different crowd at a Super Bowl than a home playoff game, but I may be underestimating how loud it would be if the Vikings make it.

And being at home may add unwanted pressure. I remember someone, I think it was Wayne Gretzky talking about playoff games during the Oilers dynasty in the 80s, who said it was really nice sometimes to have a Game 7 on the road, that although it was great to have the crowd behind you at home, on the road you got away from all the family and friends and team staff and the pressures that come along with the city and were able to focus and bond together as a team.

But maybe the pressure of a Super Bowl is so huge regardless of where it is that it doesn't matter, and having the familiar practice routine and game routine and some crowd noise would be worth it. I can't decide. I'd be interested to hear what NFLers who have played in a Super Bowl before would think.
