Some will be voted upon by members and others will be discussed and voted upon by the NCAA Council, at a later date.
1. Football fall camps would begin 29 days from the date of the first game.
2. Basketball season opening date would be moved up 3 days. A companion proposal would mandate a 3-day rest period in December.
2. Grant immediate eligibility to a transfer athlete provided he/she has a GPA of 2.7 or 2.8. The GPA benchmark has not yet been decided.
3. Graduate transfers. Compel schools to provide a scholarship for the entire graduate program regardless of the transfer’s remaining eligibility.
4. Allow official visits, of potential recruits, after September 1 of their junior year. Currently, official visits must wait until September 1 of the recruit’s senior year.
Prohibit non-official visits until September 1 of the junior year. Currently, there are no restriction.
Both these proposals have cleared the NCAA Student-Athlete Experiences Committee.
5. P5 autonomy session proposal:
Compel schools to provide medical care to athletes, injured while in school, for up to 2 years after the athletes have left college.
This is supplemental to the measure adopted two years ago, by the P5, to pay insurance premiums for up to 7 years after the athletes leave school.
This proposal was submitted by the BIG and Big 12.
If approved, all P5 and ND would be required to implement the measure effective at the start of the new school year. Non-P5 could adopt the measure if they chose.
