until the last ten minutes when our guards lost their three point shooters. Let Landale get 30 and force everyone else into tough shots. St. Mary's was shooting 24% from three until the last ten minutes of game (last five minutes and five minutes of overtime). Then they shoot 4 of 6, shooting 67%, largely because our guards got lazy and lost their man. We keep them at 24% over that last ten and that is 2-3 threes that come off the board. Guards have to be disciplined and we have to live with Landale scoring.
The only thing that would change this is if St. Mary's hits a ton of contested threes at home. Then it really doesn't matter what kind of defense we are playing.
