It seems more often than not that the threat of a star playmaker is needed to keep the other team at bay and allow the role players to succeed. But I think BYU already has more than its share of role players, and adding a class of 100% role players leaves the already bare star cupboard empty again. That's a problem.
Couple of disclosures:
1) I don't know about any specific players in this years' class. They may all be future stars, or all role players, or all projects with NFL potential but long development curves. From chocodilicus comments, I gather our class is about 100% role players. But this assumption is only based on chocodilicus's comments, and could be 100% wrong.
2) I also love all of the role player types that come to BYU, and honor every single commit this year. All are better athletes that I can imagine being, and I'm proud that they would choose BYU. May they all develop into successful role players and stars! If they are all role players, they are my favorite set of role players in this years signing class. I'll go so far as to say, I prefer all of these role players to any star that signed at any other school, and will stand behind these role players and cheer them on win or lose.
