I wouldn't "Lawyer Up," but bringing to attention of school/boys is alright.
I can agree with all the comments about this being "usual," but I don't conflate "usual" with "acceptable."
Somebody in a position of authority should tell the boys how incorrect and unacceptable their behavior was. It probably ends there, but I think some reprimand is better than nothing in this situation.
