POLL: What’s the minimum sq ft for your primary residence you’d be comfortable in with a family of six?
Include the basement sq ft since that’s how Utah does it, even though not everywhere does it like that, and many CBers live in Utah.

I grew up in a 1000 square foot home with a family of 6. I think it was too small.

What does "comfortable" mean? I find it hard to see that so many of you couldn't be "comfortable" in

We 6 are good in our 1850 sq ft. But our floorplan has no wasted space. (Okay, sometimes it feels a little cramped.)

We're a family of 7 in 2,400 sq ft. which is plenty of space

1500 per person is a good rule of thumb

So unless TNT's math is wrong. 5000 sq ft? Isn't that a bit big?

We had 7 in a 1450 sq foot home for 3 years. It was difficult, but not terrible.

3000 works for our family of 8. Any more is just more to clean.
