Because most complainers about small gyms don't offer an alternative.
If we have the option to play in Power 5 venues against teams like Nebraska--sign us up. Oh, thats right, we don't.

Is our program "too big" for the WCC? In many ways, yes, we are.

While the size of our opponent's gym or stadium is FAR down the list of things _I_worry about, I also agree that, to some extent, it does hurt our image. (I also think, as another poster pointed out, its had an interesting effect on other teams when we come to play.)

Nobody pretends the WCC is the "best place" for BYU. So stop with the straw man argument. The best place for BYU is the PAC or BIG XII.

I don't agree that the WCC makes us look "much smaller" than the MWC. To me, its mostly a wash. Nobody these days pays any attention to MWC basketball.

My issue is that while you, like many, (complain) and moan about gym size, you don't even pretend to offer an alternative. While a few misguided souls at least argue for the MWC or AAC, many don't. They just complain. I don't care for whiners.

We're in the WCC because football is better off indy then the MWC (and people want to complain about pathetic attendance numbers--how about playing football in front of crowds with less than 20,000 fans) or AAC. Yeah, in many ways after the MWC tried to scuttle our move to the WAC, we were fortunate to land in a conference that is generally equal to the MWC in basketball strength and a conference much stronger overall in the other Olympic sports.

Yes, the MWC is more fun for basketball (as would the AAC). But for me indy and the WCC is better than the MWC and AAC. I recognize there are legitimate arguments for going back to the MWC for all sports or joining the AAC. My complaint is that too many posters just complain about gym sizes just to complain. As I said before, our opponents stadium size is WAY down the list of things I'm concerned about but I see no point in just continuing to (complain) and moan about something that is the best we have for the moment. I'm more concerned with trying to win our games.
