Notre Dame has annual opponents, where both sides really love the "rivalry".  Makes scheduling much easier too.  For Notre Dame this is:

1--USC

2--Navy

3--Stanford

4--Purdue

BYU is a few short on this---we need more.  And it needs to be two-sided.

1--Utah (but their AD has an inferiority complex, and wants to one-up BYU, and get out of it)

2--Boise (best current rivalry BYU has)

3---USU (inferiority complex, little brother)

BYU needs about 2-3 more ANNUAL rivalries to sustain Independence, but we haven't found them.   I would be happy if Hawaii and SDSU were annual games.   But those schools have to want it.
