Sometimes it is hard to appreciate what you have until it is gone.
Same people who were fed up with Bronco's "boring" 9 win seasons would now be ecstatic for a 6 win season with Kalani.
Never mind that a 9 win average is about as good as we've ever been in any stretch of time. Many like to romanticize the Lavell-era which had some great highs, but we averaged around 9 wins as a whole with a WAC schedule in a easier time for BYU to compete.
Bronco took the program out of a mess and immediately took us to a bowl game. Never missed one as a coach.
• He finished in the top 25 5 of 6 years from 06-2011. Great highs of beating OU, 59-0, dramatic wins over Utah
• Even in 2012-2015 we stayed relevant nationally, had tougher schedules than Kalani, won a bunch of games, and likely would've had some magical seasons had the #1 QB recruit panned out, or if Taysom didn't deal with so many season-ending injuries.
• in those "disappointing" years we still spent time ranked during weeks of the year. Had top 3 defense in 2012. We drubbed Texas twice 13-14. We had hail mary's in '15 etc.
We have not been relevant since, and now our program is a complete disaster.
