Well Boise State at 11-2 made it, then Houston at 11-1, then western Michigan

And UCF both as undefeated. But if you are asking if BYU will ever compete with Boise State, Houston, western Michigan or UCF I will say not as an independent, but as a member of a G5 absolutely I think they can. BYU finished multiple seasons as the highest ranked non P5 champion as a member of the WAC and MWC or at least would have going into the final game or two of multiple seasons. It’s who BYU is, a very good G5 program who can on occasion beat P5 teams.
