winning a recruiting battle or two per year means nothing. this year we didn't get a single top 10 player in utah, btw.

and a lot of times in a "battle" where we lost to utah, they actually replaced that player with someone equal or better.

you don't evaluate recruiting by individual battles. you evaluate by team rankings. evaluate it by nfl players. invitees to the combine, etc etc.

byu is at upper g5 level now. we are not gonna sink below that as a g5. we will stay about the same. the best players will go to p5, which they already are for the most part---no change--- and we will get the rest. we should be able to get more than the other g5 programs because we have more to offer than fresno or wyoming, etc.

yes, we will win a few recruing battles here and there because of the mormon or poly connection. but overall our talent level is g5.
