The program has fallen on tough times, relatively speaking. The only good thing about the WCC is about to bolt and the comment is “we’ll be fine”
It doesn’t feel like BYU is fine now. There have been maybe 10 thrilling games since BYU joined the WCC 7 years ago, and i’m thinking 6 of them had something to do with Gonzaga.
Who can honestly even tell the difference between SDU, SC, Pacific, USF, Portland, and the other ones I can’t think of.
I know I keep bringing this up, but if GU bolts and BYU stays there is absolutely no reason to buy season tickets. No reason to tune in until the WCC tournament. The games are useless. Winning them gets you no credit (ask SMC) losing them carpet-bombs any hope of ever sniffing the NCAA tournament (ask BYU) - so it becomes a three game season in Vegas - and BYU has been inept in tournament play for 20 years. So, we as fans have to take some satisfaction in the regular season because of how lousy they generally play in March. If there are no decent regular season games on an annual basis, this program will dry up. There have the be more people that are as frustrated with this as I am.
