Great article on Jimmer, but the author's views of Shanghai seem a bit embellished and
exaggerated for dramatic effect.

In my experience, Shanghai may be run by a communist regime, but the people are so far extreme with their capitalistic principles that it makes the average American appear a socialist. Shanghai is like Vegas on steroids. The businesses are cut-throat and insanely competitive. They know who the competition is, but they aren't satisfied with competing with them, they want to crush them.

I was there primarily for academic reasons (BYU senior project), but we did visit with the heads of various corporations and universities. And all I want to say on that is that I'd HATE to work there. Not because it's "communist"; on the contrary, it's quite opposite. They are so extreme capitalists it reminds me of the monopolistic days in our country during the Industrial Revolution. Unless you are the guy on top...........you are working to death just to stay alive.

Oh, and Shanghai has pretty good food. It's not like everyone eats "goats heads" or whatever. The line on the food made me laugh....it's as if a person went to Utah and came back and told his country that "everyone in America eats Rocky Mountain Oysters!"
