I'd say the AAC as it stands could provide that same level of competition and
excitement. If we could somehow add Boise St and BYU right now, even as FB only members, I'd go as far as saying it could be even better than those MWC days - and with greater league continuity. I know I'm a bit biased because of my closer proximity to those programs, but I seriously think the AAC is just as ripe with P5 ready competition as the MWC was back with TCU/Utah in their heydays. I'm basically holding onto this potential move right now as a BYU fan because P5 just isn't going to happen.

One main difference is that P5 conferences consider independent BYU a P5 game, so it is easier to schedule us

Exactly my point. By moving to ANY G5, our ability to schedule meaningful P5 games is greatly reduced
