We went Indy mainly with hopes of eventually becoming part of a P5 conference. It didn't work.
And now we're stuck out there by ourselves with a decent TV contract that may or may not be renewed.
And — nothing as a great attraction for recruits. At this point, . . . . . we're going nowhere fast.

One main difference is that P5 conferences consider independent BYU a P5 game, so it is easier to schedule us

Exactly my point. By moving to ANY G5, our ability to schedule meaningful P5 games is greatly reduced
