Here's the thing though: Would going back to the MWC bring us back what
we used to have there? I'm incredibly confident it would not. IMO, what you miss about the MWC days was destroyed by P5 conferences, not independence. In fact, I think things will get worse if we rejoin the MWC in football.
If Gonzaga goes to the MWC, I could see going back in non-football sports being a slight upgrade. Slight.

One main difference is that P5 conferences consider independent BYU a P5 game, so it is easier to schedule us

Exactly my point. By moving to ANY G5, our ability to schedule meaningful P5 games is greatly reduced
