Good point regarding donors. My opinion is that it's really hard to tie it to
conference affiliation. I think all the major donors were 100% behind Independence up to the last two years. I, personally, heard a LOT of grumbling about major donors pushing hard to leave Indy/WCC behind and go to a G5 conference in the past six months. It's not as clear-cut as it once was. Also, some major donors might gripe and pull-back on donations at-first, but then return to prior donation-levels after a year or two away. I agree that the AD has a good pulse on the impacts to donations. We don't.
Bottom line: My opinion is that the financials are a very small consideration, that isn't really influencing whether or not we stay on the Indy/WCC route. There are other reasons that are much more important to the decision-makers.
