“Policing” people about things like beards is counterproductive.

It sends the wrong message that you care to much about the wrong things, and only causes resentment and rebellion where it otherwise wouldn’t exist.

Some stupid rules I choose to follow just to avoid conflict. Others I choose to ignore out of principle.
