Some thoughts:
Elijah Bryant going pro after Mika when neither had a legitimate shot at the NBA is a bad reflection of the program.
It shows that these players would rather go make a modest salary in a foreign land than play for free with their teammates in front of 20,000 fans in Provo.

Some reasons that go through my mind as to why this is the case in no particular order as some reasons are obviously bigger than others:
-Lack of joy playing basketball at BYU
-Had unrealistic view of personal chances to go to the NBA. If anyone is telling Elijah that he is on NBA radars then that is a problem. Mika as well was higher, but it was no surprise he wasn't even drafted in the 2nd round.
-Lack of camaraderie with BYU teammates...could be do to constant turnover of team
-The WCC, hasn't been a fun league for BYU to be in. Pressure on players to win all of the games again bad teams and big pressure to win the 4 "good games"
-No faith that BYU will be making the tournament anytime soon. A tournament run can boost a players stock immensely, but I'm not sure these guys were high on the program's ability to make this run when they left
-Being Married...Although I think it is a bit odd that wives would want to go to Europe to live (although RM's from there are a unique situation) there is certainly pressure from them. I also think they could be the ones telling the players they are better than they are
-Not having faith in the coach to coach them up at BYU. I absolutely think this was a factor with Mika, but not sure it is with Bryant.
-The look at me mentality. Players growing up in the instagram world and expect others to follow their journey. https://www.cougarboard.com/board/message.html?id=19664835
-Pressure, there is a lots of pressure to perform at BYU, not so much in Europe (although it adds a pressure they probably haven't felt in that if you don't perform all of the sudden you can't provide for your family)

BYU basketball better hope Childs returns and Emery joins the team. If one or both leaves then next year will be one of the least talented teams we have had at BYU in awhile.
