Car guys - help me solve this mystery with my Honda
it's an 04 Honda Element. About 120K miles. Generally everything works great, except the thing outlined below.

Often when idling (but definitely not all the time) at a stop light or whatever, it'll feel like it sort of "revs down" (for lack of a better term). I don't know how else to describe it. It feels and sounds like the engine just sort of slows down for a second or two, and then it revs back up to the normal idle.

But then, every now and then - not super common, but it's happened more than 5 times - that rev down will drop all the way down and the car will die. This has happened just when sitting at a stop light, or at the end of the driveway when stopping to move from reverse to drive. Always starts right back up after doing this.

Took it to the guy I usually use (and who is usually really good), but he drove around and it didn't do it for him, and so he felt like he couldn't really diagnose it. He feels like he needs to see it happen to get to the bottom of it.

Wondering if anyone here has any thoughts on what it might be.
