(sections). All of the chapters(sections) were revealed before 1832. This is consistent with the list of chapters (sections) listed in wikipedia,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Commandments . Section 89 was revealed Feb 27, 1833 and there is no corresponding chapter in the Book of Commandments. It is possible that revelations from 1832 & 1833, including the Word of Wisdom, were prepared for publication in the Book of Commandments but were not printed due to the destruction of the printing press in Independence.
I also have a reprint of the 1835 first edition of the Doctrine and Covenants. In it, the Word of Wisdom is Section 80 and is the same text as the current Doctrine & Covenants except that verses 1-3 of the current version are printed as an introductional paragraph in italics preceding verse 1 (verse 4 in our current edition.)
The version of the Word of Wisdom in the Joseph Smith Papers for Feb 1833
http://www.josephsmithpapers.org/paper-summary/revelation-27-february-1833-dc-89/1#source-note lists the source of that document as a notebook in the handwriting of Sidney Gilbert, written ca June 1833. In that version, there is no numbering of verses and no distinction between the first three verses and the remainder. "Following Sidney Gilbert’s death in June 1834, it appears that the Gilbert notebook transferred to the custody of the Rollins family—early members of the church in Missouri." It is possible, but not likely that that version was not the version used for printing the 1835 first edition.
If there are other versions of the Word of Wisdom in the JS Papers that were written prior to the Gilbert notebook, I could you provide a link?
