I'm not saying that the shows' creators catered to a white audience
but they certainly didn't push too hard to cross cultural barriers. Even with a relatively diverse cast and a woman of color as one of the main writers, most of the The Office characters could have been different races with very few personality changes. Seinfeld's main characters were all white, though they did point out Judaism a few times. I never got into Parks & Rec so I have no idea what the dynamics were there.

Again, not a complaint, just an observation and a guess why racial minorities in your office don't care for the shows.
