You think they would abandon west coast teams and hope west watches east?
I just don't see how the value of having a group of teams in the west, where their fans are, is not sufficient for somebody to support a major conference comprised of teams in the west.
I don't think the number of west-coast fans who would watch east-coast teams is a viable replacement for west-coast teams for west-coast fans.
