"Impact journalism" isn't what journalism needs today. Sensation and advocacy are already ubiquitous. Journalism needs quality and originality, research and objectivity. According to Jay Drew he's the only one at the Trib who could even be bothered to cover BYU because it's so awfully inconveniently far away from Salt Lake. Everyone else must have been too busy sitting at their desks, trying to create "impacts."
