I think you are missing my point.
I love the late games. Because I live in the west. So they aren't all that late for me. But east coast fans don't love late games. Because they are often starting AFTER they've gone to bed.

I'm simply saying more people watch the eastern time zone (or even central time zone) games. Because EVERY time zone has fans watching the eastern and central time zone games. But as you move the games later and later - you get ONLY the western and pacific time zone fans watching the games.

So - if you're following me - the PAC12 has a footprint of 70 million potential viewers for their late games. They may get some east coast viewers - but very few.

On the other hand - a game on the east coast is pulling from 325 million potential viewers. Because people like me - who are fans who just love football and basketball - are up early enough to watch a mid-day game that started at 10:30am my time. But east coast fans who just love football and basketball aren't staying up to catch a game that starts at 10:45pm their time. And I still will. Because it's only 8:45pm my time.

If you read my previous post - I actually stated that the broadcasters LOVE the late games. Because it gives them late content. They want that. It boosts their late viewers. But it primarily boosts their viewers in the west - not the east. And all other variables being equal - a late start game will NEVER have the same number of viewers as an earlier start game.
