why you would enter a thread on the poll question who will win the world cup with "who freaking cares , this is the USA!". Then go on to argue with people who are actually interested in the world cup, clearly expressing your disdain for the sport.

As I stated in one my replies to you, my favorite sport is now soccer. I grew up an American football fan (Redskins and William and Mary, then later also BYU) and basketball fan ( Lakers with Jerry West playing, then later BYU). I was introduced to soccer, indoor soccer at first, at about the age of 23. I thought it was the best and most exciting game I had ever seen. Shortly thereafter I saw my first regular 11 v. 11 "outdoor" soccer game on TV (one of the rare games on TV then) I thought it was extremely boring but I knew it was a matter of conditioning since I was so used to watching a continuous flow type game being direct back and forth (basketball ). So I forced myself to learn to like it. Which I did. Now I watch all the time. Every day.
