An independent contractor for my company took a company car without asking permi

ssion (he is not on insurance bc he is an IC and not an employee), he hit a deer and caused several thousand dollars of damage to the car. I am requiring him to pay for it. His mom is mad. Not at him but at my company. She says insurance should pay for it. Why do ppl act like their kids are right no matter what? I hope I don’t do that.
