Disagree here. If TLJ was made for the nerds it would have been a much
better movie. Star Wars fans (the nerds and causal fans) have seen Luke as a hero for 40 years and then TLJ turns him into a bitter old man. The nerds would have loved for him to continue being that hero.
I think the producers are trying to be everything to everyone, while pushing a social agenda, and forgetting the core audience.
