Standing with my wife, talking with a co-worker, at the edge of a very crowded wave pool. The co-worker was looking at the pool as we talked, and suddenly gasped and started sprinting into the pool. About 50 feet in, bobbing up and down in the waves was an upside down donut child float, with 2 fat little legs sticking up from it. She sprinted to the kid and pulled her out. Apparently a 2-3 year old was in the float with an older sibling, about 9 or 10 years old, and they wandered away from the child who then overturned and was held head down in the pool by the float. The interesting thing was that there was a crowd of people all around the child, bobbing up at down as the waves came at them, and no one noticed her. Kid was fine, and the parents were more interested in scolding the older child than thanking the lady who saved their child's life.
