The = "auto-bids" would be in place of the regular bids as opposed to being in addition to like it is now. CONCACAF currently has 3.5 bids (3 plus "play-in" option for a 4th) but would get 6 in the new format. Some have speculated that US, Mexico, and Canada would all get auto-bids in the tournament w/ other 3 bids being determined through the same format as before. US and Mexico almost certainly qualify anyways so only difference is that Canada is guaranteed a spot as well. Costa Rica would likely be the top team left in qualification with Jamaica, Panama, Honduras, and El Salvador fighting for the final 2 spots.
