Anyone know why BYU has decided to go the full pad camp route for summer camps? My son is planning to attend next week. We live in the Dallas, TX area and when he asked his high school coaches for equipment for the camp they gave him a hard time about it and basically said there is no reason in the world to have a full pad camp. They were concerned about him getting injured. I had to laugh because although they do things different down here in Texas he did just get through with a 3 week spring practice session where they practiced in full pads. So why are they concerned about full pads in camps and not for spring ball? Any ways, does anyone else think this is odd to have a full pad camp or does it have its benefits?
