I think it depends on what you're trying to get out of it.
My son loves the BYU basketball camps. He's not an all-world player but is trying to get better and appreciates the opportunity to play with kids similarly situated that probably won't be going on to play college ball. He's a big fan, so he loves being able to spend time around the program and get to know some of the players. If nothing else, it's been a way for him to get a taste of the BYU experience if he doesn't get accepted academically to go to school there.

That's all he really wants out of the camps, and he enjoys it. We're fine with that.
