It's a small class, usually 3-4 students, for employees who are trying to join our department. The class runs 4 months, twice a week, so I end up spending a lot of time with these students. A few years back one of my students was a 40 something man who was really friendly. Let's call him Hernando (because that's his name). He did really well in the class. At the conclusion of the class I lobbied hard to get him to join my department, but he ended up staying in his current department for various reasons.
