The biggest problem with The Lord of the Rings, IMO
Why did Tolkien have to turn Frodo at the very end? Why did Frodo have to turn around and try to take the ring instead of dropping it into the fire? It almost seems like a commentary that nobody can ultimately resist evil, which is contrary to the books’ messages up until then. It made for a decent plot twist, no doubt, but also just didn’t quite fit the main narrative. What do you guys think?
