and academic level. If he is good at football, it will work itself out either way. Can't say the same for the collegiate experience he will have, the people he will meet and the impact it will have 20 years from now. Also, if he is LDS, be sensitive to his actual commitment to the honor code.  This is one of the biggest tender mercies of not being P5.  I know one great young man who dreamed of playing for BYU and when the time came, it wasn't going to work for him and P5 gave him a really good excuse to avoid those tough conversations. Had we been admitted to Big 12, things would have been much more uncomfortable for him.
