That's absolutely possible. I really don't know for sure. On our hike to the lake on the ridge, we also
...went through a lot of nettles, which she wouldn't have known to avoid. So, maybe she got stung a lot, and that was not only painful, but made her sick. She was chomping on grass a lot, and that's what dogs do when they feel sick. She did seem to have really tender paws too, as I mentioned. My wife rubbed some aloe vera onto her pads, and that seemed to alleviate the pain a bit.

It fit her well, was well padded, sturdy, and stayed in place. There wasn't a lot of room to carry much more than her food and bowls, though. I carried in a fleece blanket for her to lay on in our tent, and I carried extra water for her.

I thought they were kind of heavy, to be honest. My wife had purchased a different packing bowl elsewhere, and it was a lot better for this purpose, I think. I'll check the brand when I get a chance.
