For the love! Some sob story on FB by a lady for having a Walmart employee
question if her dog was an actual service animal is making the rounds. My nephew's wife posts the link so I make a very kind statement about it would be better if service animals were licensed somehow so those who really need them wouldn't be questioned like this. Those faking it to pack their pet around are ruining things for those w/ a real need.

Some friend of hers goes off on how it's too much of a burden to ask the most "fragile & innocent" to have to prove their need for an animal by getting them licensed. Are you kidding me? People have to be "burdened" with getting a handicapped tag for their car. How would this be any different?

Sorry but I can't sympathize with those who are unwilling to consider a real solution to this problem. Of course businesses are sick of the issues caused by so many people packing pets around their store. Of course they're going to question if an animal is a legit service animal. I'd think the one-time hassle of getting your service animal certified would be a lot better than the repeated hassle of explaining why you're bringing an animal into a store. The honor system isn't working w/ this any more than it would work for handicapped parking stalls. 🙄
