That’s not what it is for many (most) teams anymore. Winning 6 games just isn’t tough.
BYU is now earning its way to a bowl game. And, playing many bowl-caliber teams along the way. Well, some of the normally-good teams might be terrible, but there’s a good chance they’ll be bowl eligible. And, they’re better teams than we’d likely play in a bowl game if we were in the MWC. Better than we’ll likely get as an independent, too. The point is we’re earning our stripes every week. Even if if it doesn’t for many other teams, when/if BYU makes a bowl game this year it will actually mean something.
Count me as who who thinks that Independence, for all its flaws, is soooo much better than being in the MWC or similar conference. It’s major conference or independence for BYU. No other REAL option imo.
