I agree that it's looking like HQ is distancing themselves from college sports

Perhaps college football is so dominated by money and to reasonably compete, a program must put forth exhorbitant resources. 

We know BYU sports can be a missionary tool. But with the need to put forth more money from sacred tithing funds, the $ may feel is better spent toward other causes. 

I agree, it is very sad to see the decline. It will undoubtedly benefit the U, which makes it more painful.
